Welcome
This is for the purpose of adopting Nanci Parra from Fundacion Nina Maria, an orphanage in Chia, Colombia. Chia is twenty miles north of Bogotá, Colombia. We met little Nanci in February, 2008 while visiting the children we were adopting in Colombia. We adopted Brayan, age 13 and his little sister, Tatiana , age 8. They are safe in our home here in the US and are having the time of their lives! Both are in school and doing quite well. Brayan is playing on a soccer team and Tatiana is taking dance classes.
I was lucky enough to be at the orphanage on Nanci's first day at Fundacion Nina Maria. Nanci was 10 years old, very shy and very scared of the circumstances. She had little or no academic skills upon her arrival to the orphanage. She could not comprehend numbers past 10 and she was very introverted. We returned to Colombia for mother's day, 4 months later, which was also my wife's birthday. She could not imagine spending her first mother's day apart from our kids. The day after mother's day also happened to be Tatiana's birthday. We would find out it was also Nanci's birthday. This was another miracle in the plan for us to try and adopt Nanci into our lives! We took Nanci, Tatiana, Brayan and some other children out for a birthday celebration. It would be Nanci's first birthday cake. The night was very special.
